Spiraea prunifolia 'Plena' is commonly known as Bridal Veil . The 'Plena' cultivar is renowned for its profusion of double white flowers that appear in early to mid-spring. The flowers are borne in clusters along the branches and have a delicate, fragrant scent. The double flowers give the appearance of a dense floral display, often likened to a bridal veil, hence the common name. This cultivar typically forms a dense, rounded shrub with arching branches, reaching a height and spread of around 6 to 8 feet (1.8 to 2.4 meters). The graceful form of the plant, combined with its abundant flowers, makes it an excellent choice for borders, hedges, or as a standalone specimen in the landscape. On this photo a cluster of delicate white flowers is in focus against a softly blurred green background.
